Prospective Clients
Do you offer in-person and/or telehealth appointments?
Yes, I provide in-person appointments at my office location: 399 Laurel Street, Suite 3, San Francisco, CA. I also offer telehealth appointments. I am licensed to provide care in California, New York, and New Jersey (CA #PSY31086, NY #022808-1, NJ #35SI00602600).
Do you accept insurance?
I do not accept insurance as payment, but I can provide you with a monthly 'superbill' that you may submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. Please contact your insurance for information about your out-of-network provider reimbursement policy. Fees are comparable to other clinical psychologists in the Bay Area.
I’m interested in connecting. What are the next steps?
Step 1. Phone Consultation. Please contact me by email (hello@swanpsychology.com) or phone at (415) 475-9516 to set up a brief 10 to 15 minute phone consultation to discuss what you're looking for and if I may be a good fit.
Step 2. Prior to your first session. I will send you an intake questionnaire and consent forms via our secure online system before your first session. I recommend completing these online before your first visit so that I can review them in advance. You may also complete these forms during your first session.
Step 3. Intake Assessment. Before beginning therapy, we will meet for an intake session or sessions. Typically, I meet with caregivers for one session, and youth for another. The intake can be completed as one extended two-hour session; or across two one-hour sessions. This allows me to learn more about strengths, current concerns, and what you have already tried. At the end of the intake, I will share recommendations and collaborate on treatment goals. If my areas of expertise do not match with your treatment goals, I will provide referrals for other providers who may be a better fit.
Step 4. Ongoing therapy. Typically, ongoing 45-minute therapy appointments are scheduled weekly. More frequent or longer sessions can be arranged if needed. At your request, I am able to collaborate with other providers, like teachers, primary care, and psychiatrists to coordinate care.
Cancellation Policy. Clients are responsible for the full fee in the event of a missed or cancelled appointment with less than 48 hours notice. Please be aware that insurance companies do not reimburse for cancelled or missed sessions and it is your responsibility to pay the fee in full.
